Hongmaogang

Home and Rootless (B&W series)  2004-2008

In 1967, the second port of the Port of Kaohsiung opened. Since then, Hongmaogang has been separated from the Zhongzhou area of ​​Cijin, Kaohsiung. Construction was prohibited in the village, while the people waited to be relocated. After years of controversy, local resistance, and delay, the relocation of Hongmaogang Village was finally underway in 2006 and complete in 2007. The construction of the Intercontinental Container Center at Kaohsiung Port began later that same year.

In Home and Rootless (b&w series), Yang continues the theme of the relocation of Hongmaogang villagers but focuses on the psychological repercussions of the event. He stages dreamlike scenes and scenarios in various locations on site and further incorporates post-production techniques to create blurry visions that represent the fading of, and the unretrievable, memories of what was once home.

紅毛港

家園遊移狀態(黑白版)2004-2008

1967年高雄港第二港口開闢,紅毛港因此與旗津的中洲地區分離。在小港工業化與高雄港區擴建的過程中,紅毛港因為被劃入工業區或港區計畫之中而實施禁建,等候遷村。但該計畫經過多年的延宕與爭議,直到2006年5月,紅毛港的遷村作業才開始,文物保留也同時進行。2007年,紅毛港遷村作業完成;同年12月,高雄港洲際貨櫃中心開始興建。

楊順發1985年進中鋼公司工作,移居高雄小港,紅毛港自此成為他重要的創作主題。過去30多年來發展出的系列包含:以紀錄為目的的寫實影像、抒發對家園不捨之情的靜物和編導式系列作品,以及向紅毛港做最後告別的集體藝術行動計畫。

《家園遊移狀態》黑白版於2004-2008年間完成,在政府完成紅毛港遷村預算編列,村民確知即將遷村後進行,試圖透過想像,描繪當地人對於家園即將消逝的心理和精神狀態。除了在現場編導出不同的場景和事件,更在影像後製階段,經由對底片的刻意破壞,製造出如夢境般,似有若無、不可捉摸的影像。或者說,更接近一種難以追溯、越靠近卻越模糊的記憶,表現出村民的不安與不捨。
